This year, Future Health Professionals Club and the American Red Cross teamed up to answer a need: the massive blood shortage crisis. Future Health Professionals Club helped host two blood drives on campus this year–one on April 11. The goal was 52 units of blood. Between the two drives, Saint Mary’s students, faculty, and staff contributed 65 units–surpassing our goal! It’s estimated that 195 lives were saved due to these donations. Thank you Saint Mary’s University community for making this a great success and for helping save lives! A special thanks to Olivia Meyer and Israela Noah, the co-presidents of Future Health Professionals Club, for all of their hard work in making this possible!

Interested in donating or getting involved? Look for a blood drive next semester as Future Health Professionals Club hopes to host another blood drive in the fall. Students of any major are welcome to join the club or help volunteer at events. Contact rise@smumn.edu for more information.
