Founders’ Day 2023

The Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota community will celebrate Founders’ Day on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 on its Winona campus.

Founders’ Day celebrates the founding of our university by the Most Reverend Patrick Heffron, Bishop of the Diocese of Winona, over 100 years ago and the founding of the De La Salle Christian Brothers by Saint John Baptist De La Salle over 300 years ago.

All faculty,  staff, and students  are invited to join in the festivities.

Mass – 10:45 a.m., St. Thomas More Chapel

Convocation – 1: 15 p.m., Page Theatre

Reception – 2:45  p.m., Hall of Fame Room  

(There will be a truncated class schedule on the Winona campus for the day.)

The Founders’ Day Convocation will honor our  Brother Charles Severin, FSC, Excellence in Teaching Award winner, our Distinguished Lasallian Educator, the Brother Louis DeThomasis, FSC,  Award winner, and the nominees for the 2023 Outstanding Male and Female Students as well as the 2023 Outstanding Male Student and the 2023 Outstanding Female Student.  

A link to the livestream of the Mass and Convocation will be provided several days before the event. For those of you unable to join us in person on the Winona campus, you are cordially invited to watch the livestream  with your colleagues in the University Center.
