Founders’ Day 2023

The Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota community will celebrate Founders’ Day on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 on its Winona campus.

Founders’ Day celebrates the founding of our university by the Most Reverend Patrick Heffron, Bishop of the Diocese of Winona, over 100 years ago and the founding of the De La Salle Christian Brothers by Saint John Baptist De La Salle over 300 years ago.

All students  are invited to join in the festivities.

Reception – 2:45  p.m., Hall of Fame Room  

We will have the following truncated schedule for classes on this day to accommodate our festivities:

Truncated Schedule

8:00 – 9:15 classes will meet 7:45 – 8:35

9:25 – 10:40 classes will meet 8:45 – 9:35

10:50 – 12:05 classes will meet 9:45 – 10:35

Mass starts at 10:45.

Founders’ Day program begins at 1:15.

1:30 – 2:45 classes will meet 3:00 – 3:50

2:55 – 4:10 classes will meet 4:00 – 4:50

4:20 – 5:35 classes will meet 5:00 – 5:50.

The Founders’ Day Convocation will honor our  Brother Charles Severin, FSC, Excellence in Teaching Award winner (Michael Ratajczyk), our Distinguished Lasallian Educator (Andy Robertson), the Brother Louis DeThomasis, FSC,  Award winner (Sarah Haugen), and the nominees for the 2023 Outstanding Male and Female Students as well as the 2023 Outstanding Male Student and the 2023 Outstanding Female Student.
