Saint Mary’s University women’s basketball coach David Foley was one of only two coaches from Minnesota chosen by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association to serve as one of the coaches at this summer’s NCAA College Basketball Academy in Memphis, Tenn.

The four-day women’s academy, which concluded on Monday, included the top prospective student-athletes from the 2024, 2025, and 2026 high school classes.

The academy coaching staff was composed of NCAA Divisions II and III, NAIA, junior college and high school basketball coaches. The academy provided prospective men’s and women’s student-athletes with a sample of the college basketball experience, combining high-level basketball competition with life skills instruction.

“It was an amazing experience to be a part of the first women’s NCAA CBA,” Foley said. “The NCAA hosted a first-class event, bringing young players from all over the world together to compete and showcase their talents.

“I was proud to represent Saint Mary’s and the MIAC among some of the best non-Division I coaches in the country, and to work with these bright future stars of our sport on their skills and what to expect once they reach the college level.”
