As you have likely heard, the Biden-Harris Administration announced this past August a one-time Student Debt Relief Plan. The application for this program will be available this month, and students have until December 31, 2023 to apply for this relief. Because the application is not yet available, we strongly urge those interested to sign up for email and/or text alerts regarding this program from the Federal Government, who is administering this process.
Please also keep in mind that the Student Loan Payment Pause is expiring on December 31, 2022. Students who are in repayment should plan on resuming their monthly payments at the start of 2023, and students who are still enrolled and have borrowed Unsubsidized Loans will be responsible for the interest-only payments at the start of 2023.
