Do you have any junior or senior students planning to complete an internship for credit this fall (August 31 – December 11)?
Please remind them that all internship registration steps must be completed in Handshake by Thursday, August 27 to avoid delays. Students cannot begin earning internship hours until their registration is fully approved and processed.
How you can help your students prepare:

Confirm Credits & Hours with Faculty Advisor: Help them determine the right credit load (standard minimum is 45 hours per credit; 3 credits = 135 hours).

Complete the Learning Plan: Student should collaborate with their faculty advisor and site supervisor on their Learning Plan Template.

Direct Them to Handshake: Remind them to submit their Experience request via Handshake prior to August 27.
- Thinking Ahead to Spring or Summer 2027: Many employers are already posting internships for 2027. If you have students seeking to do an internship in the near future, encourage them to get ready and start applying 3 – 6 months in advance.
