If you need on-campus housing anytime between Wednesday, April 1, 2026 after 7:00 p.m. and Monday, April 21, 2025 before 12:00 p.m. you must request and be approved to stay on-campus. This includes international students and student teachers. If your request is denied, you will be contacted by the Office of Residence. If you do not receive a response, your request has been approved.
During scheduled university breaks, the residence halls/villages/apartments are officially closed and students must leave for Easter Break by 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. Residence halls will reopen on Monday, April 6, 2026 at noon.
Only those students who will be participating in SAINT MARY’S SPONSORED activities, traveling long distances of 500 miles or more or international students will be granted break housing unless specifically approved by the Office of Residence Life. A $35 per night fee may be added to a student account for remaining on campus for reasons other than those stated above.
Permission to remain on campus during breaks is not automatic, and those seeking approval must register with the Office of Residence Life by 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, through this online form. Failure to register by the deadline will result in a $25.00 late fee that will be applied to your student account. Key card access will be shut off at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 if this form is not completed.
Residence hall staff will check student rooms during break periods to ensure that no safety hazards exist or that the resident is in violation of university policy. If a staff member should encounter a resident residing in the residence halls without authorization, the resident may receive a fine and/or loss of campus housing. Failure to remove garbage may also result in a fine from Residence Life.
Food service will not be available. The cafeteria will close at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1 and the Cardinal Club will close at 5 p.m. on the same date. The cafeteria will reopen on Monday, April 6 for dinner.
