Americans use 100 million plastic bags a year, an average of 365 bags per person per year (people in Denmark use an average of just four plastic bags a year) – 87% of plastic bags and wraps are NEVER RECYCLED and end up in the ocean or landfills, where they break down into microplastics that can contaminate our water and be consumed by wildlife and even humans. Please say “NO” to single-use plastics whenever you can! Keep reusable bags in your car, and a straw, silverware, and water bottle or mug in your backpack or office!
