Did You Know that eating less meat can significantly reduce your carbon footprint? A plant-based diet, on average, generates 2.5 times less carbon emissions than a meat diet, and requires substantially less land and water. Eating vegetarian for a year could save the same amount of emissions as taking a small car off the road for 6 months! Learn more in this article from the BBC.
AND food waste in landfills is responsible for 6% of global greenhouse gas emissions – so avoid taking or buying more than you can eat, and compost if possible.
