Dr. Elil Yuvarajan joins faculty in the PsyD program

We are thrilled to have Dr. Elil Yuvarajan join our team and welcome him to our community!

Dr. Elil Yuvarajan is teaching PYD815 Cognitive Assessment, PYD821 Advanced Cognitive-Behavioral Theories and Techniques, PYD843 Practicum II-B, and PYD827 Vocational Assessment and Career Counseling. In his first few weeks, he has really hit the ground running – teaching, conducting interviews with prospective applicants, and getting involved with supervising clinical dissertations.

Dr. Elil grew up in Fargo, North Dakota, and earned his Bachelor’s degree from Washington University and his Master’s degree from Purdue University in Human Resources Management. Before becoming a psychologist, he worked in Human Resources for several Fortune 500 companies around the world.

After deciding to become a psychologist, he went back to school at Baylor University and earned a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. He has since been working as a clinical psychologist in private practice in Houston, Texas, doing therapy and assessments.  Dr. Elil taught in the University of Houston-Clear Lake Clinical Psychology Master’s and Doctoral programs as well as running their community mental health clinic.  Dr. Elil, his wife Kristi and their 3 children recently moved to Minneapolis in the midst of winter and has started his role as core faculty in the Counseling Psychology PsyD program at Saint Mary’s University.  Although his kids are loving the snow, he and his wife are looking forward to summer.
