The first annual Christina D. Huck scholarship was awarded to two students enrolled in the MA Counseling and Psychological Services program. We are pleased to announce that Rafael Lewis and Nadia Singh received scholarship awards of $2,500 each.

The Dr. Christina D. Huck Scholarship was created to recognize the contributions of former longtime program director, Dr. Christina Huck, who died unexpectedly in 2021.  Dr. Huck touched the lives of hundreds of students, their families, and through their education and training, their clients. To continue Christina’s legacy and spirit, the Huck family generously set up a scholarship in Christina’s name.

The recipients were selected based on the award criteria which included being a currently enrolled student in the Master’s degree in Counseling and Psychological Services, and ability to demonstrate the following characteristics: Creativity, Integrity, Inclusiveness, Friendliness, Well Rounded, Persistence, and Resiliency.

This annual scholarship will be awarded each fall semester. Please watch for an announcement in Saint Mary’s Today and via email. For more information about the scholarship, please contact Dr. Lindsey Teigland, lteiglan@smumn.edu, Program Director, MA in Counseling and Psychological Services.
