Workshops
Thursday, October 1st from 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm there will be a free student workshop in Figiulo Recital Hall at the Performance Center, focusing on business Q and A with Peter Stickney, Artistic Director, Chief Executive, and Producer of The Lord Chamberlain’s Men.
Thursday, October 1st at 4:30 pm there is a free community workshop at 255 main Street which will be more of a masterclass for Shakespeare enthusiasts.
The Show
Join The Lord Chamberlain’s Men this fall for a performance on their second American tour of “Othello” — a powerful story of deception, jealousy, and a man that loved not wisely but too well. The performance will take place Friday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. at the Page Theatre.
Othello, the Moor of Venice, a respected General in the Venetian army, promotes the young Cassio to be his Lieutenant over Iago, a soldier in his service. In doing so he unwittingly sparks Iago’s deep-seated hatred into terrifying life and sets in motion a horrendous spiral of vengeance and destruction that sweeps away everyone before it. As Iago weaves his web and seeks his revenge he poisons Othello against Desdemona, who he has recently and secretly married, and turns the world upside down until Othello becomes unmoored from reality with devastating consequences.
The Lord Chamberlain’s Men is a premier all male theatre company based in the United Kingdom. They perform Shakespeare’s plays with authentic Elizabethan costumes, music, and dance, recreating his works as he would have seen them.
