There is a very special Lasallian ministry in Nairobi, Kenya, called the Centre of Love. Founded in 2017 by three alumni of Saint Mary’s University — Anthony Hulula, Jeremiah Mumo (both from Kenya), and Patrice Henning (USA) — the Centre of Love is located in the very poor Kibera slum with an approximate population of 1 million people. With and through the generosity of their partners, Centre of Love feeds 600-700 children each weekend. It also provides learning platforms, a safe place to play and grow, and very importantly, provides them and community members access to clean drinking water, as well as modern bathrooms and showers.
Two of the founding members, Anthony and Patrice, will give a presentation on Centre of Love and its work as well as opportunities for service/mission trips at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, November 7, in Brother Louis Hall 105, 2304 Park Avenue, Minneapolis.
