Visitors will be encouraged to write a reason why they love writing on a heart-shaped post-it note, to decorate the Writing Center door. Prizes will be given to participants. Learn More About I Love To Write Day:

When people become stronger writers, they become better communicators…and everyone wins!”

-John Riddle, Founder of I Love To Write Day

I Love to Write Day is observed annually on November 15. Writing has been a means of communication since the dawn of time and has proved to be a useful way to spread messages, all over the globe. A writer from Delaware by the name of John Riddle founded I Love to Write Day in 2002, making this year the 20th anniversary. He wanted a day set aside when everyone, regardless of age, could write for a while. On this day, Riddle challenged everyone to set aside one day for writing, as he saw the value in it no matter the topic or style. We are celebrating I Love To Write Day at Saint Mary’s to celebrate the way that writing allows us to make our voices heard.
