Kindness, like a boomerang, always returns.

Kindness is just part of who we are as a Saint Mary’s community. None of us engage in acts of kindness for the applause, for the notoriety, or for the attention. We do it because it is who we are. It is elemental to us as people and as members of this community. How delightful, then, that when we engage in some small act of caring or kindness, it comes back to us, like a boomerang. It’s a gift that we never anticipate, but delight in when it comes. That happened to me multiple times this week. I sent a couple of congratulatory emails to students about great things they had done. And, because our students are kind people, I got lovely notes back from all of them. Not about me, but, I’m sure this happens every day here at Saint Mary’s. I don’t want us to forget how very special that is and how very blessed we are to experience it.
