During the last week of classes we are taking time each day to share some of the career resources students have available at all times. Today the resource spotlight is on our “Gain Experience” section. Encourage students to check out these experiences over the summer!
What are the experiences? These experiences are short self-paced job simulations that students can take at any time to expand their skills and learn more about a company. They are designed to give real world experience as to what a role may entail. Students can try one out today through Forage!
What are the benefits of engaging in an experience? Each experience will list the skills earned. Students can apply these skills, and the completed simulation directly onto their resume! When adding one of these experiences to a resume, student should follow these guidelines set by Forage – note, the experiences should not be listed under the “Experience” or “Employment” sections. Students can also share the completion certificate in the LinkedIn certificate section.
Employers are able to see when students interact with their company’s simulations! Note, there is no right or wrong in the experiences, so there is no pressure about employers reviewing “performance” – they just love to see students interacting! In fact, after completing a simulation students are 3.3x more likely to land a job!
All of the experiences are free and open to all (no application needed)! Students can partake in as many experiences as they want. These are a great tool to explore over the summer to build career skills, and help students explore more career options. Students can review the FAQ page on Forage for more information.
