During the last week of the Spring semester we are taking some time each day to share the available career resources you have at all times. Take a look at these resources over the summer to strengthen your career development. Today the resource spotlight is on our “Gain Experience” section.
What are the experiences? These experiences are self-paced job simulations that you can take at any time to expand your skills and learn more about a company. They are designed to give real world experience as to what that role may entail. Try one out today through Forage!
What are the benefits of engaging in the experiences? Each experience will list the skills earned. You can apply these skills, and the completed simulation, directly onto your resume! When adding to your resume follow these guidelines set by Forage – note, these experiences should not be listed under your “Experience” or “Employment” sections. To leverage your involvement more, you can also share your completion in the LinkedIn certificate section. Be sure to make a post to call out what you learned about a specific company!
Employers are also able to see when you interact with their company’s simulations! Note, there is no right or wrong in the experiences, so no pressure about employers reviewing your “performance” – they just love to see students interacting! In fact, after completing a simulation students are 3.3x more likely to land a job!
All of the experiences are free and open to all (no application needed)! You can partake in as many experiences as you want. These are a great tool to explore over the summer to build your skills, and help you explore more career options. Review the FAQ page on Forage for more information about the experiences.
