“Votos Perpetuos” is Spanish for “Final Vows,” and on Saturday, March 18, Brother Juan Manuel Hernandez Bernal, FSC, professed his final vows in a special mass at La Salle University in Bogotá, Colombia. Bro. Juan Manuel currently resides with the Winona Brothers and is studying English to prepare him to enroll in the Masters of Educational Leadership at SMU.
Brother Frank Carr, Director of CBR, and Bro. Larry Schatz, Director of Vocation Ministry for the Midwest District, were both present for the vow-taking. Three other Brothers also made their final vows for the District of Bogotá, and the day after the ceremony and celebration, Bro. Juan Miguel’s family hosted a celebration at their country home with many relatives in attendance.
Brother Juan Manuel’s ministry here is assisting in vocation ministry as well as campus ministry activities. He recently accompanied a SOUL trip to El Paso. In the photo, Bro. Juan Manuel’s sponsor, Bro. Daniel, is between Bros. Larry and Frank. Congratulations, Brother Juan Manuel! (The Brothers are planning an SMU campus celebration in a few weeks; stay tuned for more details.)
