Biology students win honors at the MAS/BBB symposium

Six biology students presented their senior research thesis on April 26th at the Minnesota Academy of Science Winchell /Tri-Beta District symposium.  The students were Elizabeth Groothause (Dr. Claudia Preston-advisor), Katherine Hafner (Dr. Megan Girtman-advisor), Molly Osterbauer (Dr. Matt Rowley-advisor), Francis Perroud (Dr. Debra Martin-advisor), Sidney Polzin (Dr. Rowley-advisor), and Taylor Repinski (Dr. Girtman-advisor).  For the MAS awards, Katherine and Francis won top honors for their oral presentations while Elizabeth and Taylor won top honors for their poster presentations.  For Tri-Beta, Katherine won 1st Place for the Frank G. Brook Award oral presentation while Francis won 3rd place and  Elizabeth won 3rd place for the John C. Johnson Award for best poster presentation.  Also participating in the symposium were Dr. Matt Rowley, Dr. Claudia Preston and Dr. Debra Martin (VP of the NC region for BBB).
