How do I declare my major, minor, or integratus minor?

You can talk to your department chair or you can fill out this intent to declare form. Reminder – if you are declared, there will be a declaration date next to your major/minor in your student portal.

How do I register for classes?

In your student portal, make sure you are in the correct term – SP22. Then, click on “My Student Portal” and then click on “Registration”. You are able to search and add your classes to your schedule. Once you have added all your courses, click “Review Registration” and then click “Complete Registration. Keep in mind it takes about 10 minutes for the classes to sync to your schedule after you complete registration.

On the day you register, feel free to stop by HC15, or hop on zoom for additional support from the advising staff while you register. We will have donuts in person!

How do I clear registration holds on my account?

In your student portal, Look at the upper left side of the screen. If you see a red box, you have one or more holds. Depending upon the type of hold, get in contact with that office to see how you can clear the hold. Please know, holds do not just disappear – you have to take action in order to clear them.

I am not doing so well in a class. How do I withdraw from a class?

Stop down to the registrar’s office or the Student Success and First Generation Initiative Center (Griffin 70) to pick up a course withdrawal form. That form will need to be signed by your course instructor and your adviser, then submitted to the registrar’s office. If you withdraw from a course, you will see a “W” on your transcripts instead of a grade.

Who is my adviser? Do I have to meet with them before registering for classes?

Your adviser is listed in your student portal. If you have declared your major, you will have an adviser from your department listed. If you are a first year student, your anchor course instructor is your adviser. If you an undeclared sophomore, junior, or senior, you will have a Student Success adviser listed.

Whoever your adviser is, you should meet with them to discuss your schedule for next semester and your degree requirements long term. Be sure to account for your integratus requirements when making your schedule. ALL students are required to participate in Integratus and declare an Integratus Minor.
