Sexual Assault Awareness Month (#SAAM2024) takes place during the month of April to increase public awareness about sexual violence and educate communities about how it can be prevented.

According to recent national statistics, every 68 seconds, an American is sexually assaulted. One out of every six women has been the victim of an attempted or completed rape in her lifetime. One out of every 10 rape victims is male. The majority of victims are under the age of 30 (RAIIN).

In Minnesota, one in four Minnesota college students report being sexuallay assaulted.

We ask members of our university community to choose respect in their intereactions with each other as doing so helps to form healthy relationships and prevent sexual violence.  As a Lasallian Catholic institution of higher education, the university believes in the inherent dignity and worth of every student and employee. As such, the university strives to create an environment where the dignity of each person is respected and honored. Sexual discrimination, harassment and violence violate the dignity of the person and are inconsistent with the mission and values of the university.
