On a lovely September Saturday morning (17th), Lasallian Collegians sponsored an apple-picking event in Yon’s Valley. This year the trees are filled with apples, but most are too high to pick by hand. Thanks to fruit-picking tools and help from Paul in maintenance, we were able to get a lot of them!
Then, it was off to the power plant/outdoor equipment room to make juice under Bro. John’s tutelage. We harvested 15 gallons of juice, which will be donated to the Winona Catholic Worker. Everyone who helped got a sample of the fresh apple juice: YUM! Great turnout and great work by lots of volunteers: Thanks to all!
