All Souls’ Day

November is not just a month of freeze warnings and no-shave novelties! It is a special time when we remember our loved ones who have passed away. As we prepare for the changing of the seasons, from Fall to Winter and Ordinary Time to Advent, it is fitting that we reflect these transitions with candles and music. Having received hundreds of names to be remembered at our Mass on Thursday, we wanted to pay special tribute to all of those who have died yet remain a vibrant, constant part of this community. Our first piece by Eleanor Daley looks beyond the grave and instead to the “diamond glint on snow” or the “gentle morning rain” to feel their presence. Similarly, the final piece composed by SMU’s director of music programming, Dr. Michael Bagby, looks past the questions and trials of this life and rather focuses on the heavenly dwelling place “when our hearts are washed away.” We appreciate your support and prayers throughout the month of November and hope you join us for this 15-minute program on Thursday, Nov. 2nd in honor of All Souls’ Day.
