Advising Forums: Igniting Conversation in Advising
Calling all advisers! Join us for a discussion on various advising topics. The forum is designed to foster knowledge sharing, networking, and collaboration among advisers. Join us on the following Monday’s from 12:15-1:00 pm in Aquinas Hall 310.

January 29: How do I foster personal relationships with students and provide mentoring?

February 12: What are my roles and responsibilities as an adviser? What are my advisees?

February 26: How do I navigate degree programs and general education?

March 11: What are the structure and outcomes of my advising appointments?

April 8: How do I work with at- risk students?

April 15: How do I and my department prepare students for transitioning into the post-baccalaureate world?

April 22: How do I assess my advising practice?

 

Adviser Workshop: Supporting your Advisees with Disabilities 

Monday, February 19 from 12-1 pm in SM413

In collaboration with Access Services, we invite you to this one-hour workshop designed to empower advisers in supporting advisees with documented disabilities. In this session, we will navigate through various advising scenarios, provide guidance, and discuss inclusive practice.

March 11th marks the beginning of the advising season. Advising appointments are expected to begin this day.

 

Important Dates:

Registration Week for Fall 2024 and Summer 2024: 

Seniors: Tuesday, April 2

Juniors: Wednesday, April 3

Sophomores: Thursday, April 4

Freshman: Friday, April 5

Registration Support for students will take place in Hendrickson Center 15 daily

Advisers are required to grant clearance for all listed advisees in the “Nest” portal. Advisers are encouraged to grant clearance only after having had an advising meeting with their advisee.
