The Office of Admission in collaboration with faculty in the Biology and Math Departments have completed the 3+2 Physician’s Assistant Program recruitment cycle for the 4th program cohort starting Fall 2022. The application process was selective and highly competitive.
Applications were received from students living in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, North Dakota, Michigan and Montana. A total of 82 applications were received by the December 1st deadline. 38 finalists were selected by our faculty committee to move on to Mayo Clinic for review by Mayo faculty and staff. The 38 applicants participated in interviews which took place over 4 days in January on our Rochester Campus. The interview process included opportunities for applicants and their parents to interact with Mayo faculty and Saint Mary’s admission staff. Of the 38 finalists, 18 students were offered a seat in the program, 16 applicants were placed on the waitlist and 2 applicants were not offered an opportunity to move forward but to consider other programs at Saint Mary’s. The average GPA of all finalists was 3.99.
The cycle for the Fall 2023 cohort begins on August 1, 2022.
