How You Can Help
1. Urge Students to Pre-Register in Handshake
Please remind students to register in Handshake by Monday, October 26. Pre-registering allows Career Services to print personalized nametags and prepare enough materials. (Note: Walk-ins are still welcome!)
2. Share Attending Organizations Relevant to Your Major
Over 60 regional organizations and graduate programs are participating this year! You can share targeted organization lists with students in your department or advisees to help them spot relevant opportunities.
3. Guide Students in Fair Preparation
-
Researching Employers: Encourage students to review Handshake listings and target 3–5 employers before arriving.
-
Resume & Interview Prep: Point students toward Career Services’ Create a Resume & Cover Letter and Interviewing online resources.
-
Elevator Pitch: Prompt students to practice a brief introduction and think of key questions to ask recruiters.
-
Career Services Support: Remind students they can schedule 1-on-1 sessions with Career Services through Handshake for customized resume, pitch, or strategy assistance.
