All are invited to the annual Winona-Dakota Gathering, held October 3-4, 2026 at Unity Park in Winona.
Throughout the day Saturday, the event will include opportunities for cross-cultural sharing, moccasin tournament, grand entry and social dances (1 pm), vendors, and community meal (chili & frybread) served at 5 pm. The Winona-Dakota Unity Alliance is honored to welcome back Jackie Bird, Native artist, singer and dancer as a featured performer after the grand entry on Saturday.
A coffee social to honor elders will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2026 from 10 am-noon. This past year has brought a great many changes. We hope you’ll join as we honor individuals who have shaped the organization and connect with those who carry the work forward.
The mission of the Winona-Dakota Unity Alliance (WDUA) is to create sustainable alliances among Indigenous Nations and the Winona community with a mutual understanding that we are all related. Their vision is to sustain a regionally valued organization and unique annual event, the Winona-Dakota Gathering, and to continue reconciliation among all our relatives which is publicly recognized and practiced through ongoing friendships, community partnerships, and mutually meaningful activities.
