Student Senate Meeting Minutes

President Noelle Buckley called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Prayer and reflection by Isaac Timmerman.

Executive Board Reports
Noelle Buckley, President
- Matt Klosky reached out regarding a potential partnership with Student Senate for a mini golf course and we will be following up at a later date. We encourage senators to please share their input!
- In two meetings, Student Senate will hold a gathering with sand volleyball and a fire at the seminary firepit!
Angel Garcia, Vice President of Financial Affairs
- The Education Club will be hosting the Minnesota Teacher of the Year for a presentation and Q&A on September 28th.
- Student Senate will be proposing to the Business Office to increase the laundry fee by $10 per year for the next two years to generate more revenue.
Bobby Skemp, Vice President of Campus Affairs
- Nothing to report
Grace Leis, Vice President of Academic Affairs
- Nothing to report.
Bella Norris, Vice President of Public Affairs
- We have a voter registration event coming on Thursday, September 24th, from 4 to 6 pm to help students register to vote!
Karli Zetah, Vice President of Student Affairs
- Two new clubs, Cardinals on the Run and the Fiber Arts Club, are being recognized by Student Senate. The Fiber Arts Club will focus on knitting, crocheting, and cross-stitch. Representatives from both clubs will attend the next Senate meeting.
Jaedyn Fellenz, Vice President of Media and Communications
- We are looking for one more at large representative and petitions are still open. Students interested in this position should contact Jaedyn Fellez for more information.
Rylee O’Konek, Vice President of Administrative Affairs
- Could the class officers please stay afterward to discuss fundraising expectations and the upcoming fundraiser on October 3rd?
Ariana Flores Diaz, Vice President of Multicultural Affairs
- Nothing to report.
Scott Walker, Advisor
- Student Senate recommended that the Business Office consider increasing the laundry fee. Student Senate is not implementing the fee increase.
- Regular elections are upcoming, and one candidate will be visiting campus during the week of October 5th.

Senator Concerns:
- Lydia Hawkins: Two dryers are currently broken in Gilmore Creek.
- Simone Roman Vega: Pre-Law Society will be taking a trip to the University of Minnesota for the annual law school fair. More information to come.
- Cannon Manley: What would the discount for mini golf be if we do help fund the mini golf course?
- Depends upon the partnership structure. Updates will be provided as it moves forward
- Fareedah Oyesola: Would the laundry fee increase only affect the next two years?
- Yes. It will increase $10 each year for the next two years.
