Access Services: Using the Alternative Testing Module in AIM

Access Services uses Accessible Information Management (AIM), an online accommodation management system that allows students to request their accommodations through an online AIM Student Portal.

Student can use the ‘Alternative Testing’ Module in AIM to:

  • Submit a new exam request (instructions below)
  • Cancel an exam request
  • Reschedule an exam
  • Review exam requests

How to Submit a New Exam Request

  1. Navigate to the AIM Student Portal.
  2. Under the tab labeled “Accommodations,” select, “Alternative Testing.”
  3. Select your course under “Schedule an Exam.”
  4. Select “Schedule an Exam.”
  5. This will bring you to the course information page, where you can select from the available exam dates or you can choose an exam date not listed.
  6. If you do not choose an available exam date, enter the exam information as directed on the page.
  7. Select “Add Exam Request” located at the bottom of the form.
  8. You will receive an email notification when your request has been approved by the Access Services Testing Center staff.

Reminder: Exams should be requested at least 72 “business” hours in advance of the scheduled exam so Access Services has time to prepare accommodations and exam materials accordingly. Although, we will not turn you away if you request an exam after the preferred 72 hour request deadline.

For more information about the AIM Student Portal, please view the AIM Training for Students Page on the Access Services Website.
