Winter or spring weather is shaking up this week’s schedule, so be sure to stay tuned for updates regarding upcoming Saint Mary’s athletic events.

TENNIS HITS THE ROAD
After being shut out last Saturday against conference foe St. Olaf in Northfield, the Saint Mary’s tennis team is looking to bounce back as it prepares for another MIAC matchup. The Cardinals will travel to Moorhead on Friday, March 20, for a noon match against Concordia.

The contest will be played at Courts Plus in Fargo, N.D., as the schedule was adjusted due to Saturday’s Cardinal Excellence Fund Hall of Fame Dinner on campus, where the program will celebrate a former standout.

BASEBALL FACES WEEKEND UNCERTAINTY
After nearly a month on the road, Saint Mary’s baseball (7-6) was set to open its home schedule this weekend at Max Molock Field. However, recent snowfall has created some uncertainty.

The Cardinals did manage to get in two non-conference games in Illinois last weekend, falling 4-2 to Dubuque before rebounding with a dominant 12-2 victory over Marian. In that win, Saint Mary’s tallied a season-high 15 hits and 12 RBIs.

Junior Ryan Csida (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly) earned MIAC weekly honors after an impressive showing at the plate. He hit .625 (5-for-8) across the two games, recording a single and a double against Dubuque before finishing just a single shy of the cycle against Marian, driving in four runs. He also contributed defensively with six catches and six putouts on the weekend.

Saint Mary’s is currently scheduled to host UW-Superior for a doubleheader on both Saturday and Sunday starting at 1:00 p.m., but weather conditions may force changes. The series could either be played as planned or moved to an alternate location in Iowa with more favorable conditions.

A final decision regarding game times and locations is expected Thursday. Fans are encouraged to stay tuned for updates as the weekend approaches.

Regardless of location, the Cardinals will be in action—it’s just a matter of when and where. For the latest information, visit saintmaryssports.com and follow Saint Mary’s Athletics on social media.
