The First Generation Initiative is hiring Camp Counselors for its Countdown to College (C2C) program, running July 5–24, 2026. The limited-term position is open to all college students and recent graduates aged 18 to 23, and the role offers a $1400 flat rate plus free housing, meals, and CPR certification for the duration of training and C2C (3 weeks total).
As a counselor, you aren’t just supervising; you’re a mentor. You’ll lead a specific group of students, facilitating workshops and activities that help them grow while keeping them safe through nightly rounds. There is something special about being a guide for first-gen students; whether one yourself or not, sharing your own recent experiences with college life, you become a relatable role model who can turn the intimidating idea of “higher education” into a reachable goal for these bright young minds!
To apply, submit a resume and a cover letter answering specific experience questions to c2c@smumn.edu by 11:59 p.m. on March 8, 2026. Interviews will follow from March 9–12, with final hiring completed by March 13.
