Students,

We wanted to give you advance notice regarding tuition costs for the upcoming 2026-27 academic year. To ensure our programs and services remain competitive and focused on high quality outcomes, Saint Mary’s Board of Trustees has approved a modest tuition adjustment for both the Winona residential undergraduate College and Schools of Graduate and Professional Programs (SGPP). This increase, similar to other quality colleges and universities, helps mitigate the effects of the current inflation rate on university expenses.

Please know that we do significant planning and take into consideration the investments required to continue to deliver a high-quality education to you and your fellow students. These investments support small class sizes, access to faculty and academic advisors, updated learning technologies, student support services, and the continued strength of Saint Mary’s academic programs. The tuition and fees structure for the new academic year has been updated online, and is as follows.

Tuition and board charges will increase by 3.74% for next year for the Winona Campus undergraduate College. This increase is comparable to, in some cases below, tuition increases at similar private colleges and universities nationwide. A couple other fees will increase slightly, including technology and per credit instruction fees.

With the new increase, tuition will be $47,680, an increase of $1,720, and tuition and fees will total $48,390. Base room and board charges will be $11,940. The tuition for our PA program will be $52,450.

We, along with the Board of Trustees, understand the significant investment you are making in your future and know that increases can, at times, be challenging for students and their families to manage. This decision was made thoughtfully and with careful consideration of affordability access, and long-term student success. Know that we are fully committed to keeping tuition costs both reasonable and competitive and that we believe wholeheartedly that your lifelong return on investment on a Saint Mary’s education is one of the best decisions you will make for your future.

Saint Mary’s remains focused on providing a quality education. Our graduates benefit from a mission-driven organization that emphasizes academic excellence, career readiness, and personal growth. Among the private colleges and universities in the state of Minnesota, Saint Mary’s remains among those with the lowest comprehensive fees, and our fee structure compares favorably when reviewing those of other private institutions in the state.

Consistent with our Lasallian Catholic mission, we remain committed to providing an accessible, outcome-focused education for all students. Thank you for being part of the Saint Mary’s community. Our best wishes to you for a successful spring semester and throughout your studies with us.
