Anime club is pleased to announce another movie night on the 21st of November. With a showing at 7 pm for the English dubbed version and a 9 pm showing of the English subtitled version of the movie. While we may not be able to give the actual title of the film we are showing, it wonderful master piece created by the acclaimed Studio Ghibli. Which became the Winner of the 1989 Blue Ribbon awards (Tokyo-specific) and has also won the 1994 “Chicago International Children’s Film Festival” Animation Jury Award, and the Rights of the Child Award.
This movie is a heart-wrenching anti-war film taking place during the American firebombing campaign of Japan during World War II. Showing the devastation and starvation that civilians may face during wartime.
