Picture yourself beginning the spring semester in the classroom, then in May boarding a plane for an 11-day adventure to England and Scotland.  That’s exactly what’s offered by PH 388: Talking Tolkien in England, led by Dr. Joe Tadie and Jeff Halberg.

Travel begins in London, where you’ll experience the energy of one of the world’s great capitals before moving on to historic halls of Oxford, the medieval streets of York, and even the towers of Alnwick Castle. Along the way you’ll also explore coastal villages, hike Edinburgh’s famous Arthur’s Seat, and wrap up with a stop in Cambridge. Enjoy a mix of academic learning, cultural exploration, and shared meals, with opportunities for both guided excursions and free time to discover on your own.

Whether you’re drawn by the connection to Tolkien, fascinated by history and architecture, or simply eager to travel and experience something new, this course offers an unforgettable way to expand your classroom learning into the wider world.

Information Session: Tuesday, October 7th, Toner 9 at 12:00pm, or contact the Study Abroad Office at studyabroad@smumn.edu
