The Cardinals are back! After about a two month long summer break, Saint Mary’s athletic events are back this week. Check out the first sporting events of the 2025-26 school year.
ALUMNI WEEKEND FOR CROSS COUNTRY
On Saturday, August 30th, the Saint Mary’s cross country team will host their only home meet of the season. The action kicks off with a 10:30 a.m. shotgun start, marking the Cardinals first competition of the year.
The Red/White Alumni and Intrasquad Meet will see the 2025 Cardinals facing off against former team members in a spirited showcase before the team departs for their annual retreat.
VOLLEYBALL AT RIPON
To open the 2025 season, the Cardinal volleyball team will head to Ripon, Wisconsin for a four-match weekend. On August 29th, they’ll face UW-Superior at 5:00 p.m., followed by a 7:00 p.m. matchup against host Ripon.
The action continues on day two with a noon match against Aurora, before wrapping up the weekend against Martin Luther at 2:00 p.m.
MEN’S SOCCER TRAVELS SOUTH
To kick off their 2025 campaign, the Saint Mary’s men’s soccer team will travel to Illinois for a two-game weekend.
The Cardinals open the trip in Chicago with a 5:00 p.m. match against Illinois Institute of Technology on Friday, August 29th, then remain in the area to face Lake Forest at 1:00 p.m. the following day.
WOMEN’S SOCCER KICKS OFF IN NORTHERN MINNESOTA
The Cardinal women’s soccer team opens the season with a single matchup this week, heading to Morris, Minnesota for a 3:00 p.m. showdown against UM-Morris on Friday, August 29th.
No need to worry, there’s a full slate of home games coming up next week to enjoy! Make the most of this final free weekend as we get ready for an exciting and action-packed sports season.
