Description: Commuter students face unique challenges balancing academic, work, and personal commitments. This session will explore strategies for fostering engagement, building community, and enhancing the overall success of commuter students. Participants will discuss common barriers faced by commuters and learn practical approaches for providing targeted support, developing inclusive programming, and promoting a sense of belonging on campus.

What are Student Success Chats?

As a retention effort to increase student success and persistence, it is important that we work cross collaboratively to ensure accurate information sharing and solidified relationships amongst offices. In order to better serve our students, we must first educate ourselves on the inner workings of the university, especially in areas not our own. The intended target audience is all staff and faculty, especially at the Winona, Undergraduate campus with folks in SGPP welcome to join. This is an opportunity for others in the Saint Mary’s community to refresh our knowledge on the important work being done outside of our own departments and strengthen relationships and connections with each other.
