Dear Lasallian Community,

It is with great excitement that we announce changes to our Tuition Remission Policy.

As a Lasallian Catholic university, we embrace the value of education and the search for truth through faith and reason. Accordingly, learning itself should be the greatest benefit we can offer to our workforce.

As of 02/01/2025, our Tuition Remission Policy will reflect the following changes:

  • The repayment period has been eliminated.
  • A one-year waiting period from date of hire has been instituted for regular employees to become eligible to receive tuition remission benefits for themselves. This change does not affect their dependents, who continue to be eligible from the employee’s date of hire.
  • The maximum number of credits eligible for remission each year has increased from 15 to 18, and the 6-credit-per-semester limit has been eliminated.
  • All other changes reflect either current practices and procedures that were not previously stated in the policy or financial definitions that did not align with the definitions used by the Financial Aid department.

Implementation of this updated policy will take place as follows:

  • Active employees who have applied and been accepted in a program prior to February 1st, 2025, will not be subject to the one-year-of-service waiting period.
  • Active employees who apply on or after February 1st, 2025, will need to complete one year of service to the university before they are eligible for tuition remission.
  • Active employees who have not yet completed their programs will no longer be bound to a repayment period, and their signed and active contracts will be void.
  • Active employees who have completed their programs will no longer be bound to a repayment period, and their signed and active contracts will be void.
  • The policy changes have no effect on former employees’ contractual repayment obligations.
