Next Monday is the day all Catholics celebrate that Mary was conceived without sin, endowed from the moment of her conception with the perfection suited to her dignity as the Mother of God. She is the New Eve, the Ark of the Covenant. So important is this belief for Catholics that it is typically a holy day of obligation. For us at Saint Mary’s, the feast takes on special importance as we celebrate our Patroness, for whom we are named.
