Prayers are requested and invited for the repose of the soul of Brother Paul Grass, FSC, PhD, and for the consolation of his family. Brother Paul died at Little Sisters of the Poor in St. Paul, MN, on the morning of Monday, November 18, after having suffered a stroke a week earlier. Brother Paul was one of those “Lasallian giants” – in the Midwest District, the North American Region, and the global Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools. A humble man, erudite scholar, faith-filled believer, and indefatigable worker. In his 71 years as a De La Salle Christian Brother, more than two decades were spent at Saint Mary’s, holding a half-dozen roles and offices during that time. His dedication and his competence were recognized with the Bishop Patrick Heffron Award (1986) as well as an honorary doctorate in Fine and Performing Arts (1989) and the Religious Service award in 2007.
