We are thrilled to share this fantastic news! The IT Department has been awarded a grant of just over $117,000 from the federal government. This is a wonderful opportunity for Saint Mary’s to improve our IT infrastructure.
The grant is earmarked for four key areas:
Storage Improvements: Upgrading our storage solutions to ensure better data management and accessibility.
Core Switch Replacement: Modernizing our core switches to boost network performance and reliability.
VM Host Replacement: Replacing our virtual machine hosts to enhance our virtual environment and support future growth.
Security Training: Investing in security training to keep our team informed and equipped to handle evolving threats.
This grant allows us to focus on hardware replacements rather than software, as hardware purchases are typically one-time investments. In contrast, software costs are ongoing. By prioritizing hardware, we’re setting ourselves up for long-term success without the continuous financial burden of software expenses.
