WINONA, Minn. – Welcome to the winter seasons! Saint Mary’s has so many exciting games this week including, a MIAC Playoff game, two season openers, and a senior night.
Women’s Quarterfinals Match
The Saint Mary’s women’s soccer team is hosting the first round of the MIAC playoffs on Monday, November 4th, at 3 p.m. The team notched the No. 3 seed and will play the Gusties who are the No. 6 seed in the quarterfinals.
The last time the two matched up against each other, the Cardinals beat the Gusties 2-1 at home and are looking to repeat themselves.
Tickets are available via Hometown Ticketing. There will be no cash sales at any venue.
Women’s Hockey Ranked Matchup
The women’s hockey team travels to UW-Eau Claire to take on the ninth ranked Blugolds on Tuesday, November 5th for a 7 p.m. game. The only game of the week for the team.
The Cardinals split a pair of home games this previous weekend against Concordia Wisconsin.
This game will be the home and season opener for the Blugolds.
Volleyball Home Stand
The Cardinal volleyball team looks to have two home games this week, the time this season, on Wednesday November 6th at 7 p.m. against the College of Saint Benedict and Saturday, November 9th and 5 p.m. against Macalester for senior night.
The Bennies are 6-3 in conference and on a two game win streak.
The Scots are 4-6 in conference and on a two game losing streak. This Saturday will be the last game of the regular season for MIAC volleyball.
Men’s Hockey Double Header on Road
The Saint Mary’s men’s hockey team is on the road this weekend facing two WIAC opponents. The team travels to Menomonie to face UW-Stout on Friday, November 8th at 7 p.m. and to central Wisconsin Saturday, November 9th taking on the ranked Pointers of UW-Stevens Point.
The Cardinals opened up the season defeating UW-Stout in OT in their first exhibition game earlier last week.
UW-Stevens Point is currently ranked sixth in the nation and is 1-1 on the season.
Men’s Basketball Season Opener
The Cardinal men’s basketball team is to play their first game of the 2024-25 season on Friday, November 8th at 7 p.m. taking on the Polars of Crown College.
This matchup will be both teams first official game of the season.
Exhibition Game for Women’s Basketball
The Cardinal women’s basketball team will travel to Rochester for an exhibition game to start their season. On Saturday, November 9th the team will take on Rochester Community Technical College for a 3 p.m. game.
Originally, the team’s first exhibition game was scheduled for Friday but due to low numbers of their opponent, had to be canceled.
