The Student Success Center, in collaboration with FGI and RISE, is looking to build up our knowledge of faculty and staff on the Winona campus who identify as first generation. We will be celebrating National First Gen Day on Friday, November 8th, and are hoping to bring more awareness to the first generation student experience. By identifying yourself as first gen, you are helping to normalize the stigma associated with first gen college going.

A Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota student is considered a first-generation college student if neither parent / guardian completed a four-year college degree.
