Student Senate Meeting Minutes
4/2/2024

Meeting was called to order by President Maggie Newhouse at 7:00 p.m.

Members Present
Mario Rodriguez Gomez, Connor Close, Lizzie Pike, Alison French, Sidney Polzin, Gabe Potyk, Abbie Stigler, Jacob Fiala, Abby Nosbisch, Owen Ziegler (Maeve Cannon), Caden Rodning, Emma Mara, Teagan Phillips, Melanie Winzenburg, Mallory Von Tersch, Emma Gerdes, Leah Parker, Paige Morris, Jack Campion, Maggie Newhouse, Joel Tranel, Nick Kiemel, Noah Kiemel, Maddi Clark and Ann Merchlewitz

Guest Speaker: Jim Bedtke
● Taught for 14 years. 41st year working with Saint Mary’s. Now loves to work with kids.
● In charge of capital improvements.
● Is in charge of on campus directional signage that will be put on campus.
● Need to replace signage which has been in place for the past 15 years.
●Waiting for the rebranding to be complete. Now that we have the new rebranding, we can correct the signage.
● Needed because it is hard for delivery drivers to deliver packages.
● $89,000 for 18 signs
○ This is for making the signs and putting them on campus.
○ Each of the signs would have a special coating/wax on them for sun and weather protection.
● The marketing team is working to create a QR code for the entrance sign for a campus map when scanned.
● These would be put in over the summer of 2024.

Resolution 006: Drinking Fountain Filters
● This is to allocate money toward new filters.
● $1,100 for 13 filters
● The motion on the table is to adopt Resolution 006.

○ Motion passes to Adopt Resolution 006.

Resolution 007: Water Filter For Skemp Hall
● Adding a new water filter in Skemp Hall.
● $1,500 for a new unit.
● The motion on the table is to adopt Resolution 007.

○ Abstaining: 0
○ Motion passes to Adopt Resolution 007.
