Dear Saint Mary’s Community,

Women’s contributions to the world are immeasurable, having played pivotal roles in shaping our world today. Celebrating and supporting women’s achievements paves the way for a future where everyone can thrive equally. Let’s recognize and uplift the vital role women play in enriching and advancing our world.

Whether you live close to Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota’s Minneapolis, Rochester, or Winona Campus, there are special activities recognizing women and the contributions they continue to make in our local communities and around the world.

  1. Don’t miss the three main events sponsored by the Minnesota Historical Society this year. See the Mill City String Quartet: Women Composers, Women Performers. Listen to funny, poignant, and inspiring stories from contemporary women inspired by history and women of the past with “Hear Her Stories.” Explore an exhibit that takes visitors on an inspiring journey through artistic expressions of Mille Lacs Band with “Women of the Big Lake.” Get event details: https://www.mnhs.org/media/news/honoring-past-embracing-future-celebrating-womens-history-month

  2. Visit the Winona Arts Center as they present “First Ladies Trilogy” portraying Bess Truman, Mamie Eisenhower, and Jackie Kennedy. Playwright Kay Sebring-Roberts Kuhlmann created all three of the one-woman pieces under commission of the National Archives. The three solo plays have been performed at eight presidential libraries in the past three decades. Now, Winona audiences can see them in a two-evening series.
